I enjoy reading history so while researching my family I feel that that I can give them more than than just a name on a chart. I can better understand what type of a life they may have had by what was going on around them.
Both Jackie's and my grandfathers served in World War I, and to top it off the both served in the Canadian Expeditionary forces and went to England and France. I can only guess what they witnessed there.
If you are interested in a little family history during WWI than spend some time reading the Blog
WW1: Experiences of an English Soldier This blog is made up of transcripts of Harry Lamin's letters from the first World War. The letters will be posted exactly 90 years after they were written. To find out Harry's fate, follow the blog!
The Blog started in July of last year they will continue until he dies or comes home. Reading them gives me more of a feeling of what our grandparents went through in those years.
